Locksmith

You can call me a locksmith
I specialize in the realm of my own heart
I threw out the key years ago
And have yet to find my way back to the core

My heart stays under lock and key
with every ounce of strength with it
I fumble through my collection of keys
To find one that resembles the right fit

Here’s my hand, lead me in
And we can make home
In the depths of my heart

So, I’ve had this thing all wrong
I’m holding on to life so tight
I’ll loosen my grip on this handle by my side
And quit calling it mine

Here’s my hand, lead me in
And we can make home
In the depths of my heart
